Birds of a Feather… Enjoy Folly’s Marshes

Updated: Dec 6, 2019

We are always thankful to own a home on Folly Beach! While traveling to and from Water’s Edge, we cannot help but notice all of the wildlife – most notably the waterfowl. While egrets rule the roost in the neighboring marshes, throughout the year other seabirds flock to Folly. As the pictures below show, these saltwater lovers come and go along with the seasons. Curve-billed ibises, hunching wood storks, agile willets, and the popular hooded mergansers drop in out throughout the year! Look for these feathered friends the next time you return to Folly – on Folly Road itself or even in the marches our homes overlook!
