Home Pest Control & Termites Q&A

There have been a number of questions related to what Home Pest Control is doing or not doing. And there are always things we can be doing better. This post is to provide some questions and answers.

  • Does Home Pest Control provide a report of their inspections? Yes each month when they do the pest control treatment they send Poston a report. We know that Mike Ritter from Home Pest Control came out on March 26th. The report shows the products applied: 20lbs of Talstar PL: As a perimeter and lawn granulated product, Talstar PL fights against Ants (including Imported Fire Ants), Mole Crickets, Fleas, Ticks, Roachs, Scorpions, Spiders and other bothersome insect pests on lawns and landscaped areas. 2.5 flozs of Demand CS Concentrate: Demand CS is a water-based insecticide concentrate that offers excellent indoor and outdoor pest control. Demand's micro-encapsulated technology means that when you apply it, it leaves thousands of micro particles that bind to the surface offering long-term protection and fast insect knock-down. It treats for Ants, Aphids, Bed Bugs, Beetles, Boxelder Bugs, Carpenter Bees, Carpet beetles, Centipedes, Chiggers, Chinch Bugs, Clover Mites, Cluster flies, Cockroaches, Crickets, Earwigs, Fleas, Flies, Grasshopper, Grubs, Gypsy Moth Larvae, Japanese Beetles, Midges, Millipedes, Mites, Mole Cricket, Mosquitoes, Scorpions, Silverfish, Spiders, Termites, Thrips, Ticks, Wasps, Whiteflies and others. No additional technician notes provided.

  • Are they providing treatment every month? If so, what are they treating for? Yes, they are there monthly doing the pest control treatment. See above.

  • When does Home Pest Control treat for termites? Annually. Every September/October.

  • Is treatment once a year enough, given the problems some owners have faced? Yes. The treatment is done annually and if any problems/concerns occur throughout the year Home Pest will come out and assess. "Whether you've had termites in the past or are looking to prevent them, all homeowners should have their home inspected annually for termites. For the most part, termite treatments last anywhere from a couple to 10 years depending on the type of treatment used." - Source: Active Pest Control

  • When was the last time they treated for termites? It was treated the end of last September.

  • Do they ever lay bait traps for termites? I'm told they do. But I have asked where bait stations are located.

  • When does Home Pest Control typically come to Water's Edge for monthly service? They typically come the last Tuesday of each month. If you have any concerns for treatment either inside or outside your unit, you can reach out to them in advance of the Tuesday.

Did we miss a specific question? Please feel free to comment and we will endeavor to provide an answer.
